Week of 10/21

This has been a kind of crazy and different week for the kids. With ITBS of 3rd and 5th graders the schedule this week has been a little different. However, there is still lots of learning going on. :)
Next week we will also have a busy schedule with Red Ribbon Week. Please look for a flyer to come home this week with the scheduled events. In addition we will have our Mad About Math Centers on the 31st. Any parent who is available we would love it if you could come in and participate in the fun. As always if you have any questions/concerns please email me @ BrackingM@fultonschools.org

Week of 9/16/13

Thank you so much for being patient with me while I was out taking care of my son. I have changed the way my blog looks. If you notice the grade levels are located on top. Here is where I will put information and resources that are particular to each grade level. The homepage will contain information for the whole school. I hope this helps.
* Make sure you are keeping up with your tiger trot-a-thon!* I hope you are enjoying the work-out.

Short week with so much learning

Today is the 100th day of school... I know I can't believe it either. They have learned and grown so much in these past days that I can't believe it. This week we will finish our time unit and move onto addition with three numbers and fact families. Continue to work on ixl and xtramath these websites will really help. If you agreed to help donate to the classroom membership to RAZ kids please send in your $10. Next week will be exciting and new for the kids as well. Also if anyone has any magnetic numbers that they are no longer using we would love some! (It would be a great addition to a math center.)
Reading: Cause and Effect, PIE (When you are reading to them at home ask them provoking questions like why do you think the author wrote this story?)
Language Arts: Verbs (While driving in the car have them make up a list of verbs.)
Math: Addition and subtraction (ixl and xtramath)
Social Studies: Theodore Roosevelt (Complete the square on the enrichment homework.)

WOW... I am so shocked at how well they are doing on www.ixl.com. Some of the students are moving along so quick that they are almost on the second grade standards. Also, I am curious if you guys would be interested in purchasing a membership to RAZ kids. Its a wonderful reading website that assign kids books based on their reading level. It is only $80. I will put up a blog under the blog portion for you to voice your opinions.
Don't forget Monday is Dr. Martin Luther King Day so there is no school.

Reading: Alphabetizing and Making and confirming Predictions
Language Arts: Verbs
Science: Animals
Math: Time
Health: Personal Health

Also, I have a grant posted on donorschoose.org if you could forward it out to your friends/family or even put it on your fb.
